As a leader or CEO, chances are that your time is pretty thinly spread, with much of your day taken up in meetings rather than working at your computer. To ensure that you get all of your tasks done, implement these three techniques to boost the pace at which you work…

Please Do Not DisturbTry out the 80% rule – created by a Canadian business coach, the 80% rule proposes that you complete your tasks to around 80% of your best ability, and then move on to the next task. This is because the last 20% is often that which takes the most time, and is generally not noticed or appreciated by other people. Always finish the job, but remember that being a perfectionist can often affect your productivity.

Speed through the less important – remember that all tasks do not need the same level of care and time putting into them. Try and speed through those tasks that need less time, and save your tie for doing those larger tasks justice.

Close the door – Try closing your office door. Distractions and interruptions will dampen your productivity, even if they are only momentary. Try setting specific hours that you will be available during, and stick to them. Whilst no one can be productive 100% of the time, try these techniques out to see a real difference in your work rate.
